Hero Arts: One Layer Penguin
Since I had some time and the challenge on A Blog Named Hero, the Hero Arts blog, about creating a one layer card, was still happening I broke out another Christmas/winter card and played around.
When I purchased the Christmas Lights Bold Print back ground stamp I also bought the Color Layering Baby Penguin stamp set. If you know me you know I have a love of all things flamingo and all things penguin so it was a no brainer getting this set. Plus how stinken cute is it!
I originally wasn't sure what I wanted to do with the set but then I remembered how I had just recently purchased the circle infinity die set and an idea was formed.
Basically I used the die to cut out a circle that would fit my penguin. I then used 3 ink cubes (Lavender, Light Teal, Midnight) from the April 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit (which is sadly sold out now) to blend on the card to make a night-ish sky look. When that was finished I removed the mask and stamped my penguin image.
For the penguin layers I used two different gray inks I had on hand (I believe there were two Lawn Fawn but I can't recall) and Memento Tuxedo Black. I think used my Memento Tuxedo black marker to make the penguin look like it had a small shadow. I also stamped out 3 stars in Tsukineko Brilliance ink, Starlight Silver.
To finish it off I added a sentiment from the set that seemed fitting.
What do you guys think of my newest one-layer card for Hero Arts? I know I can't want to play more with this stamp in the future.
